Mr. Schwartz is a first-chair AV-rated civil trial attorney with over 45 years of experience in federal and state courts across the U.S. He has conducted approximately 150 jury and bench trials and has substantial appellate argument experience as well. His career started as a federal prosecutor until he became the general counsel of a New York pharmaceutical firm. From there he entered private practice in 1991 and became a partner in several national law firms. His practice has focused on employment law matters, unfair competition, breaches of fiduciary duties and other business torts. Clients have included major financial institutions, manufacturers, government contractors, universities, and the governments of China and Germany.

Federal Defend Trade Secrets Act
Represented a manufacturer in one of the first cases filed in the United States under the Federal Defend Trade Secrets Act ("DTSA").
Injunctive Relief & Constructive Trust
Obtained injunctive relief against a competitor that had co-opted the client's chief technical officer, which led to a favorable settlement, including royalties and a constructive trust on all ill-gotten profits.
Shareholder Oppression Suit
Represented a minority shareholder in a shareholder oppression suit filed in Virginia state court against a large regional mortgage company, which resulted in a favorable settlement for the client.
Federal False Claims Act Defense
Defended a national bank in a Federal False Claims Act case and obtained dismissal of the Relator's claims on summary judgment.
